I arrived at Claire’s parents house in the morning to find a house full of excitement with people getting ready for the day ahead. Claire’s brother and family had flown over from the USA and her sister had travelled up from down south. Grandad was also there in the kitchen, telling stories of storming the beaches on D-day. Claire’s dad David was the vicar at the church, just a two minute walk down the road, and would be walking Claire down the aisle then quickly getting changed and conducting the ceremony.
The ceremony all went to plan… even with David’s quick costume change. After the ceremony there was a quick dash down the A1 to the elegant Morritt Arms near Barnard Castle. The Morritt is a fantastic venue. The dining room has wonderful natural light and the gardens are great for photography.
The evening reception got off to a great start. The dance floor was heaving as soon as Grooveline started playing. I’ve seen them at quite a few weddings now and the dance floor is always full.
